Oroville's mild climate and quaint environment provides for happy living and fun-filled visits. Its beautiful scenery, affordable land and housing prices, and easy-going lifestyle provide an inviting atmosphere to all those seeking to escape the hectic pace of urban living. Located near the Feather River at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills, Oroville is home to about 13,000 residents, but services an area encompassing about 40,000 people. Nearby is the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area which features Lake Oroville. With 167 miles of shoreline, Lake Oroville offers fishing, houseboating, swimming, picnicking, water skiing and jet skiing. The area also offers excellent hunting, golfing, hiking and snow skiing, as well as easy access to Feather Falls, Lassen Park and Lake Tahoe.
To fulfill a long-felt need in the Oroville community and after much planning and effort, the Oroville Board of Realtors® was officially organized by the adoption of By-Laws on March 31, 1952 and by election of Officers and Directors on May 5, 1952.
The Board's Charter was presented by CREA President James Udall, on June 4, 1952, at a largely attended public dinner at the Oroville Inn. Present and participating were CREA Executive Secretary, Eugene P. Conser and Realtor Frank O. Bride, Jr., Sacramento Vice President, National Association of Real Estate Boards.
